Cloud 23 Hilton
If you've not managed to make your way to Cloud 23 at The Hilton Manchester Deansgate, then you must. You'll have heard of its opulence - the bar floating 23 floors up at The Hilton hotel in the Beetham Tower. Above it are 20 floors of private apartments, the top owned by the main Beetham Tower architect & boasting huge olive trees in it's 3 story vaulted penthouse.
Cloud 23 boasts double vaulted windows which give you an astounding view across the whole city & beyond. The drinks are more pricey than most Manchester bars, but it's worth it for the experience & the view!
Highlights include the extensive drinks menu, the first class table-service, the view (which is unbeatable on a clear evening), the ambient music & relaxed atmosphere & the friendly, accomodating staff.
We say ...
"Making a booking at Cloud 23 is essential. The queue starts at 5pm, as soon as the bar opens. Don't think you can push to the front, unless they really are expecting you! If you've not booked, then you're looking at a half an hour wait at the most.
Don't wear trainers, you'll definitely get turned away - so ensure you have your going-out shoes on when you visit.
If you're taking friends, a cost effective option is to opt for a bottle of wine (there are some lovely vintages in the menu) or if you want to make a night of it, try a few of the fab Manchester-themed cocktails!
Sitting in the West Lounge gives you a direct view of Coronation St - nice to show your visiting friends!
