Alternatively from all UK locations, you can drive to Kent (South of England) & take a regular ferry crossing to Calais. Equally, the Eurostar train leaves Ashford, Kent or London St Pancras at regular daily intervals, taking you direct to Paris in 3 hours (from London). 

Caveat emptor - Parisienne hotels

Nowhere, except New York, has such a mix of the good, the bad and the downright tiny. When picking a Parisienne Hotel you'd better have your Wallpaper Travel Guide with you, because you could fall a little short (of space indeed).
