Zelens Skin Science Day Cream is definitely something you like to have looking good on your bathroom shelves.

The range consists of a range of anti-ageing, luxurious skincare created by Dr Marko Lens, a skin cancer and skin ageing expert.

The packaging is also beautiful, designed by Anouska Hempel (who designed The Hempel Hotel and Blakes Hotel in London amongst others).

Busy Test

Zelens Skin Science Day Cream was actually very nice to use: it works into the skin very well, isn't at all oily or greasy.

I have combination skin so always worry about using something new incase it reacts badly, but the Zelens creams didn't cause a reaction or excess oil at all.

The cream feels slightly exfoliating when it goes on, probably a cause of the extensive list of ingredients it contains. I wasn't looking for miracles, but after 14 days I did feel an improvement in the quality of my skin, it seemed smoother and softer.

What's it all about?

"The most reliable way of seeing if there is DNA damage is measuring the expression of the P53 gene", says Dr Marko Lens, the specialist behind the Zelens skincare brand.

"P53 is part of the repair process - it's the molecule that kills damaged cells, because you don't want these replicating in your skin"

Too little P53 activity results in skin cancer, where damaged cells proliferate unchecked, but too much active P53 can lead to skin ageing so, the aim is to normalise production.
