Suffering from overwhelm?

If you're anything like the Busy clients who spurred my decision to start The Busy Girls Guide, your responsibility & daily pressures may lead you to feelings of overwhelm.

According to research 60% of the UK currently feel stressed & overwhelmed. The classic symptoms of overwhelm are:

- more to do than you feel you can cope with
- no idea where to start
- teary and emotional or fed up & miserable
- no interest in socialising
- feeling tense & stressed
- tired all day & often not sleeping well

As a life coach, I've worked successfully with so many clients who have become overwhelmed with daily pressures.

In this 5-part series, I'm going to talk you through the way out of overwhelm & back into a controlled, happy lifestyle.

PART 1...

Can you cut down?

Consider whether your daily pressures are all necessary. Have you taken on too much? If so, is there any way of lightening your load? Can someone help you out at home or with the children? Can you delegate any of the work you have to do?

The reality of the situation may be that you have chosen to be Superwoman, but found that 24hrs isn't enough for you. If this is the case, off load where you can.

If your situation hasn't changed, but your ability to handle it has, then it may be your motivation that is lacking.

Look at what you're doing & why you're doing it - is it all for someone else's benefit? What are you gaining from rushing around all day?

Busy Homework...

For the next 3 days, take a step back & write down exactly what takes your time up every day.

Be honest - if you spend half an hour worrying & doing nothing useful, record this. If you take on requests from friends & then resent accepting them because they make you late, record them.

Take 5 minutes out this morning & really think about where your time is spent.

As soon as you are clear on what you have to do, we'll be able to work out how you can better handle it.

I'll be back with Part 2 shortly...
