Spring Clean your Mind

Spring Clean your Mind

Oh Busy, Girl - it's true that our minds are much like our homes - they both get cluttered up with old ideas, old conversations, old hurts & old habits. So, we thought it was about time that we had a bit of a mental spring clean, to get rid off everything that could potentially hold us back this New Year...

Much like cleaning your house, Spring Cleaning your mind takes some effort & a bit of determination - it's not always easy to do, but it's worth it.

Here are our Founder, Lifestyle & Business Coach Lucy's ideas to get you started on Mind Spring Cleaning:

Throw away procrastination

"I'll start my diet on Monday, no point right now", "I'll do the spare room next weekend"... the more you apply delay and procrastinate your way through life, the more you set yourself up for problems. You'll be constantly living in the past, scrabbling around trying to get things done last minute. Drag yourself into the present day & get started!

Clean off the lingering memories

If you need to apologise to someone to move on, just do it. If you're waiting for an apology that's never going to come, let go.

Hanging onto these negative thoughts is quite simply contaminating your mind - so make a conscious decision to get rid of the bad stuff and make some room for happiness.

Wipe off your negativity and apply fresh coat of positivity

Positive attitudes begin with gratitude. Today, practice giving instead of taking, saying thank you and thinking about what you have, not what you want. Practice sharing as much love, help, care, concern, and gratitude as you possibly can. You can even be sickly sweet if you want! Just watch your perspective change.

Bin impatience

Take a step back, and consider why you're letting impatience get the better of you... do you really need it yesterday?

Clean up your funny side

Lighten up your conversation with humour and fun. We all know life is difficult and the world can be a bit serious, but a little bit of lightness and humour can work wonders for your disposition. Have a little fun every day, make a wally of yourself behind closed doors, see the fun in a situation and feel how good it is to giggle.

Clear the way for change

Change takes action. There's no magic recipe, but if you open your mind to some different ways of doing things, if you try some new habits, you'll end up with the life you want, not the life you settle for. Think about what you'd like to do, take the risk and do it; life's too short to fear the future.
