See it. Love it. Grab it.
With the warmer weather going AWOL this summer, we're spending our hard earned cash on more than just summer clothes. It seems our buying behaviour is a little erratic, with UGG boots sitting alongside white trousers in our purchase pile.
Did you know this summer's best selling shoe was the welly! Tragic I know. This year, the high street has seen the worse summer trade for years with most stores starting their sales 2 to 3 weeks earlier just to keep up with the weather.
But, there is some good news - not only do you have a number of great sale pieces stocked up for next year - but the change in temperature has had a big effect on the way fashion now sells in stores & it's all good...
Winter wonderland
If you've ventured a peek at the new season's rails you'll have already noticed the browns & khakis starting to show up. These are simply 'transition colours' that retailers use to gently sway us away from bright, summery colours to eventually, winter's black & grey.
Most designers bring out a transitional collection around this time, with the hardcore winter wear following in September.
Here's the trick...
So what's changed? Well, this season, many of our favourite stores have decided to keep us on our toes.
They've opted to launch a new collection every 6 weeks rather than refreshing a slow selling line by remerchandising it with a new trend. I'll give you an example - do you remember the tulip skirt you saw all the way through last season in all different colours & fabrics which then ended up in the sale with 75% off?
So, you'll have to lose the 'I'll buy it when it starts getting a bit colder or when I need it' attitude - because it won't be there in 6 weeks time! Every 6 weeks, the entire collection will change & the remaining lines will be sent out of store so you won't be able to get your hands on them!
So Busy Girls - when you see it & you love it - BUY IT!
This season is THE season for 'Must - Haves' & best sellers will fly off the shelves even faster than ever before. Just remember - you heard it here first!
Until next time...
