Social Report: What does 2010 have in store for you?
Life & Love
What does 2010 have in store for you? After the stresses and strains of 2009, life has looked far from rosy recently. BusyGirlsGuide gets us thinking...
2009 has been a tough old year. When a country which relies on its financial institutions has a banking crisis, it's true to say that you're pretty scuppered.
Every high street bears the scars of the failing economy, with boarded up shops sandwiched between 'sale sign' smothered windows. Retailers are struggling to tempt spenders with any less than 50% discounts and BOGOF deals are two a penny. Small business owners are finding fewer customers will take a risk on them, and the 'make-do' generation is reforming.
However, ever the optimists, we know it's custom to start every new year with hope in our hearts, to wave goodbye to the bad times and look forward to the new start.
But this year feels a little different. We know that the recession isn't just going to melt away and those of us who have lost jobs know that we're not going to find work that easily.
So, we have two choices Busy Girl.
We can continue to worry, to panic about the state of our finances, our future and our potential. We can hang on in desperation and pray, We can do what we've always done and get what we've always had.
Or we can change.
We can adapt and adjust. We can review our situation, decide what we will and won't accept this year and make plans to go out and get what we need to be happy. We can make 2010 what we want it to be.
Whether it's your job that needs attention, your finances, your health, your love life, your family life - whatever it is that needs work, know that it needs action.
If you find yourself worrying about what 2010 has in store for you this year, stop! Worrying is energy wasted and will never benefit you or your situation. Move all the energy you normally use up worrying into positive actions.
2010 will be a product of everything you do, so start now.
