Busy Girls Guide to Paris

"He's taking me to Paris... I wonder if he'll propose at La Louvre or The Eifel Tower?" my friend mused last week. It certainly is a city known for its resplendent beauty & love.

But what is it about Paris that has us girls weak at the knees? Is it the Fashions, the Style, the Food, the Hotels or simply the idea of Paris?

With the help of our Wallpaper Travel Guide to Paris, we Busy Girls find out...

Getting there

Jet2, BMIBaby & Airfrance all fly Manchester to Paris from £25.00 each way.

Alternatively you could drive to Kent & take the ferry or go with Eurostar, taking a train from Manchester to Euston & St Pancras to Paris.

Caveat emptor - hotels

Nowhere, except New York, has such a mix of the good, the bad and the downright tiny. When picking a Parisienne Hotel you'd better have your Wallpaper Travel Guide with you, because you could fall a little short (of space indeed).

Where to stay

Hotel du petit moulin (www.paris-hotel-petitmoulin.com)
- a former boulangerie with 17 individually designed guest rooms, quirky decor, glamorous fabrics & beautiful bathrooms.

Kube (www.kubehotel.com)

41 guest rooms & suites in a modern eclectic theme, with underlit beds which appear to float, and glass cubes for walls, this place really is unique. Try the ice bar for a chilly experience!

Park Hyatt Paris-Vendome (www.paris-vendome.hyatt.com)

A decadent & glorious hotel with deluxe rooms, elegant bathrooms & a really glamorous, elegant, warm twist. With beautiful views of Paris & a stunning location.

What to see

Of course no trip to Paris would be complete without a trip to The Eiffel Tower, The Louvre Musuem & of course the eclectic Momarte (the famous painters hang-out). Oh, & don't forget to visit The Champes Elysees & L'Arc du Triomphe!

Where to buy...

for the home On your way down the Champes Elysees, pop into 'Lancel' (127 avenue des Champes Elysees), a stunning boutique packed with gorgeous unique objects.

for top designer fashions The Faubourg Saint-Honoré district is perfect for Paris design and fashion. Next to the Louvre, it's occupied by classic designers like Versace, Hermes & Yves Saint Laurent.

for department stores Boulevard Haussmann has top designer collections within department stores, for men & women, gourmet food shopping & gorgeous jewellery.

For Parisienne Quirkiness The Marais is perfect for eclectic fashion, unique jewelry, antiques & fine art.Follow the main streets - rue des Francs-Bourgeois, Place des Vosges, Rue de Turenne, Rue des Rosiers for unique and finely-crafted antiques, fine-arts, jewelry & wonderful boutiques featuring up-and-coming designers.

Have fun Busy Girl, we want to hear ALL about it! Got any thoughts on Gay Paris? Well, we'd love to hear them - comment below!
