5 Fabulous Smoothie Recipes

 

We all know that breakfast is the most important meal of the day, blah, blah, but sometimes there's just no time or were so Busy we forget.

We're going to let you off a bit, I mean eating toast every day can become a bit dull, so it's no surprise you might not be in the mood.

Instead of chastising your naughty ways, we've decided to bring you a perfect high-protein solution that you can eat on the run... no excuses now Busy Girl, these are gorgeous, tasty & really easy to drink.

5 fabulous smoothies

Shopping List

Bag of frozen berries of your choice
Bag of frozen blueberries
Bananas (which you then peel, split in half, wrap in foil & freeze. This is a great way to use up brown bananas!
Tub of non-fat plain yogurt
Orange juice or Cranberry juice
Bag of mixed seed
Skimmed milk
Fresh grapes (for no. 5)
Vanilla essence or Cinnamon powder

1. Orange Frosty

1 cup milk
1 cup water
1 can frozen orange juice concentrate
10 ice cubes
half cup sugar
2 teaspoons vanilla

Simply in blender until smooth & foamy.

2. Berry Surprise

1 cup non-fat yogurt
Small handful of seeds
1 cup milk*
1 banana
cup full of frozen berries
*use skimmed milk to make this a low-fat treat.

Blend & go!

3. Buzzy Banana & Blueberry Smoothie
1 banana, peeled & frozen
half cup frozen blueberries
1 cup orange juice
1/2 cup vanilla low-fat yogurt

Toss in a blender, mix & enjoy!

4.Coffee-Nana Smoothie

1 banana, peeled & frozen
1 cup skimmed milk
Small handful of seeds
1 small tub of low-fat coffee yogurt
pinch of cinnamon

Mix first three ingredients in a blender until well blended. Pour into serving glass. Top with freshly sliced bananas & a dusting of cinnamon.

5. Cranberry Healthy Smoothie

1 cup cranberry juice
1 frozen banana
small tub of fat-free yogurt
1 cup frozen raspberries
half cup red seedless grapes

Mix all ingredients in smoothie maker until well-blended. Pour into serving glasses.

Try to get in the habit of having a smoothie as soon as you get up & drink whilst getting dressed / putting your makeup on. It will only become a fixed habit after 3 weeks, so make sure you keep going by rotating your flavours, so it doesn't get repetitive.

Oh - & remember to put the lid on the smoothie machine!
